7 tips for returning from vacation
1. Prepare everything for a pleasant return
Preparation for returning home begins even before leaving for a vacation! Despite the fact that before the holidays we are usually in a hurry to finish urgent matters, nevertheless try to find half an hour and leave the apartment in relative order: let the floor be clean, the laundry basket empty, things and toys arranged in their places. And by the way, check the stocks of soap, toilet paper and other household trifles.
2. Take care of food
Make sure that you don’t have to run to the food store immediately after returning: coffee and sugar always end at the most inopportune moment, and the absence of other familiar or favorite foods can seriously ruin your mood. And let a few servings of pre-cooked and frozen food await you in the freezer - the problem of dinner and breakfast will be solved. How to freeze fruits, read here.
3. Take a day off
Plan your vacation dates so that the whole day after your return, you can legally sit back, sleep and be lazy with a book or tablet. Psychologists advise to spend the first post-vacation day in the rhythm of the ended rest: do not rush anywhere, relax and enjoy life. Such a "reset" will help the body adapt a little to changes, and you will smoothly, without stress and stress, exit the holiday mode.
4. Leave some money
Allocate a small amount in advance from the “vacation” budget and put it aside in a safe place (how to save on vacation, see here). You will spend this money only after returning from a trip - and for something extremely pleasant for yourself. Maybe it will be a new dress, massage or spa procedure: the main thing is that such “unaccounted for” means will help you get rid of the unpleasant feeling that the vacation is over and the money with it.
5. Return midweek
It will be much easier for you to get involved in work if, after a vacation, you leave for the office not on Monday, but on Wednesday or even Thursday. Overpowering five consecutive working days after a vacation and not overwork on the weekend is an almost impossible task. But a short two-three-day “work week”, on the contrary, will help you return to your duties without undue stress. Work in the lightweight mode for the first few days: take one-and-a-half breaks every hour and a half, try to get distracted from business more often than usual (and don’t get to the most global ones yet), take time to have tea with your colleagues and discuss your vacation. And don't panic over the number of cases that are likely to fall on you. All the same, it will not be possible to solve all the problems at the same time, so just draw up a gentle action plan and proceed with its implementation. You will see that in five days there will be no trace of this blockage.
6. Disassemble vacation photos without delay.
Yes, immediately - on the first day after returning! Otherwise, you will constantly put off this, in essence, a very pleasant thing. Sort the pictures, delete the unsuccessful ones, order the print of those where you turned out especially advantageously. Make a small selection of photos to illustrate your story about the trip for relatives and friends: no more than 15-20 frames with a different plot. Seven ideas on what to do with back-up photos.
7. Have fun!
Do not strictly remind yourself that the vacation is over, and the harsh everyday life has arrived. On the contrary, the more pleasures you allow yourself now, the calmer the transition from relaxation to daily duties and worries will be. Spend the weekend not in household chores, but in nature, invite guests or organize a picnic with friends, buy tickets for a good performance - in short, live bright, fun and eventful. And then a light holiday mood will really stay with you for a long time - almost until the next vacation!
